Banbury Central 'A' upset the form book beating first division leaders Headington A 5-1 at Horton View on Thursday.

At half way it looked a certain Headington victory but despite fielding a much weakened side Central put in a great second half performance to overcome last years League Champions.

Will Campion with Alan Carter, Jim Gow and Lionel Lewis won 22-13. Nigel Galletly with Andy Wilkin, Luke Gilbert(12) and Paul Humphris won 20-13. Les Campion with Dave Green, Ian Gilbert and Lee Young won 20-19 and Ian Whelpton's rink of Chick Boyd, Mick Miles and Keith McNeil came back from their now traditional weak start winning 9 of the last 10 ends to recover from 3-18 down to a respectable 16-20 securing the overall match result for Central.

Central are now unassailable at 3rd place in the league and Headington drop to second, half a point behind new leaders Carterton, with one game remaining for all.
