Banbury Central will be represented at Leamington in August in the Bowls England National Women's Fours after Carole Galletly, Pam Shepherd, Helen Young and Caroline Campion reached the Final of the Oxfordshire Women's Fours.

In the quarter-final, Campion's four faced Maureen Osborne's rink from Banbury Borough. After 21 ends the game took a dramatic twist with the scores level and the resulting extra end needed to find the winners. With the Borough women having taken the jack, Campion, with the final wood of the extra end in hand was shot down. As her draw wood came to a halt the shot had changed to Central, 17-16 and a place in the afternoons semi-finals beckoned.

In their semi final they found themselves up against the Oxford City & County rink of Carol Gaskins, current Bowls England Women's Singles champion Donna Knight, England International Kathy Hawes and Bowls England Senior Women's Manager Gail Gilkes.

The Central women took it in their stride, chalking up a 14 shot victory 26-12.

Their opponents in the Final played over the weekend of 29th/30 July will be the West Witney rink of Maggie Miller, Sue Wilson, Jazz Alder and Karen Alder.
