The ladies had a resounding win in the midweek league at home against the Carterton/Burford side, 85-37.

Mo Cox, Jill Hart, Annie Gilkes and Caroline Campion moved into the lead on the third end and from 15-7 after eleven ends continued to control the game to win 21-12.

On the rink of Myra Lewis, Gill Sharpe, Pam Shepherd skipped by Anne Norton it was one way traffic from the start with them leading 16-0 after only seven ends. The visitors did score 5 shots over the next two ends but the traffic direction went back to Central who score on the remaining 12 ends, for a final score of 38-5.

The third rink of Bev McNeil, Jane Williams, Helen Young and skip Carole Galletly also shot out of the blocks going 17-2 up after eight ends and then winning the remaining thirteen ends 9-8 for an 26-10 win.

The men's "A" team at home to Watlington found the visitors too strong and  slumped to a 68-98 (0-6) defeat, losing on all rinks.

Ian Gilbert, Luke Gilbert, Graham Morbey and skip Keith McNeil lost 14-23.

Stuart Boyd, John Pardoe, Mike Andrew and Ian Whelpton folowed suit losing 14-28.

Andy Wilkin, Jim Gow, Lionel Lewis and Lee Young put up a more spirited performance before losing 20-25, whilst Central's final rink of Alan Carter, Paul Humphris, Nigel Galletly and Will Campion fought back tremendously from a drastic first half to just lose out on 20-22.

The "B" team had better fortune in their away game against Headington "B" winning by one shot and sharing the points at 3 each.

Bob Rogers, Eric Trinder, Roy Wilkins and Mal Leather never recovered from two bad ends in the middle of the game and lost 15-30.

John Hart, Terry Ulph, Ron Havard and skip Ron Cox contested a tight game which saw their hosts edge away in the finals leaving the central lads going down 14-18.

Tony Lawford, Graham Tilbury, Keith Williams and Tom McKenna trailed for most of their match finally losing 14-21.

And then, lo and behold, along came the cavalry in the guise of John Bone, Eric Knowles, Ed Creed and Jim Pickering who galloped home with a 35-8 win and in the process collecting all of the three Central points.
