Banbury Central Women had a busy weekend on the green and enjoyed success in the Quarter and Seni Finals of both the Triples and Fours.

Saturday's Triples were hosted by the Shiplake Village club and in the morning Quarter final Central's triple of Carole Galletly, Helen Young and Caroline Campion won 27-9 against Cynthia Bryant's Charlbury triple.

The afternoon's semi-final against  Katherine Hawes' Oxford City & County team produced a much tighter game on a tricky rink with Central taking a final spot with a 22-18 win.

The Saturday trio, joined by Pam Shepherd travelled to Chipping Norton for Sunday's Fours Quarter and Semi finals. Their opponents in the mornings Quarter final were none other than fellow Central bowlers Gill Hunt, Jenny Williams, Gill Sharpe and Sue Waring who found their clubmates too hot to handle, losing 5-25.

The semi final brought Galletly, Shepherd, Young and Campion up against the Watlington rink skipped by Emma Gilkes with the Banbury rink moving into the final on the back of a 27-13 victory.

The successful Triple and Four will contest the County finals at the end of July, with this weekends achievements having also qualified them for the respective competitions at the National Championships at Leamington Spa at the beginning of August.
